Action and goals on a special night at Hurst Cross as former manager Gerry Quinn's old players took on the current first team at Hurst Cross, winning 5-2. His team were one of the most successfull in Ashton's history, securing promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division for the first time and winning three straight Manchester Premier Cups in 2001, 2002, and 2003. Goals for the old boys were scored by Peter Carty, Craig Fleury, Dean Johnson, Chris Cornelly and Andy Johnston from the spot. The referee was a slightly biased and fully kilted (!) Dickie Daye!
