The Robins of Ashton turned in a fine performance with something of a makeshift team to take all three points from their trip to Derbyshire.

With Sam Baird out injured fellow centre back Sean Newton was only fit enough for the bench so it was left to Luke Burke and Josh Doherty to provide sterling performances ably assisted by Louis White deputising at left back.

The goalmouth action started as early as the second minute as a bouncing ball saw Enock Lusiama's volley bring a sharp save out of Roberts in the home goal before a loose pass from Burke saw Kirby-Moore crowded out by Doherty before he had a chance to shoot.

White's pass then saw Mikey O'Neill test Roberts from 22 yards before Will Tomlinson's overlap won a corner which saw a scramble in the area end with Alex Byrne firing against the right hand post.

The second half opened with a quick break from O'Neill leading to Lusiama's cross being saved before Roberts also denied Darius Osei low down.

Daniel's shot from the edge of the area was then blocked with Okyere being denied close in from the rebound but immediately O'Neill picked up the play in midfield with Osei then showing tremendous strength to hold off defenders before placing his shot perfectly inside the far post.

Six minutes later a throw in saw Roberts' punch land with O'Neill who shot narrowly wide into the side netting and three minutes further on Tomlinson released Byrne down the right wing from where his cross was tapped home by Lusiama for his third goal in four games.

Lusiama then hit a first time volley over the top from Eastham's long clearance and as the visitors continued to press Tomlinson hit a low effort with little power and Osei forced a tipover from Roberts.

O'Neill then came close again firing over after a great run from midfield and Matt Thornhill then collected a clearing header before testing Eastham low down.

As time ran down Osei's cross was just too far ahead of strike partner Lusiama and a left wing cross saw Okyere sidefoot straight at Eastham as the visitors moved up to 11th place in the Northern Premier League.
