A remarkable second half turnaround saw Ashton take their place in the second qualifying round of this season's FA Cup having trailed until the hour mark at the Towbar Express Stadium.

A sunny day greeted the players on the North Yorkshire coast with Scott Burgess back on loan for his second spell with the Robins who picked up three injuries in the bank holiday defeat to Curzon.

Within the first four minutes they had carved out two chances as Kurt Willoughby's far post cross was cushioned down by Al Byrne for James Hardy to convert from an offside position and a break by Justin Johnson from Byrne's long ball saw his pullback poked wide by Mo Doro.

The action soon switched to the other end as Joey Phuthi kept the ball alive at the by line from where it was headed on by Callum Hickman and recycled by Adam Gell for Ben Turner to provide a left foot finish.

Midway through the half Willoughby was denied by a point blank save from Jack Norton but within a couple of minutes Phuthi's next cross found Stuart Rose totally unmarked to head into the far corner.

Just past the hour mark a long clearance from Harry Flowers allowed Byrne to pick out Hardy in the middle who sidefooted home and two minutes later Hardy brought matters level after Johnson's run to the by line had seen the ball pinball around the home area with the defence unable to clear.

Byrne's far post cross was then headed wide by Willoughby but with 18 minutes left the turnaround was complete as a great run from John Lufudu following a throw in saw Hardy turn on to his left foot before beating Norton low to his left.

Hardy still hadn't finished as he was first to react knocking home the rebound as Willoughby's fierce free kick was spilt by Norton and entering added time a long clearance from Lufudu saw sub Darius Osei outmuscle James Dillon before steering home on his left foot.
