On Wednesday 5th November we are hosting BBC Manchester’s Children in Need Challenge.
Two BBC Radio Manchester presenters, Joe McGrath & Simone Riley are walking 25 miles three-legged as part of a wider BBC 1000-mile challenge and have chosen Ashton United as a stop-off point on their route from Oldham to Ashton Town Centre.
The walkers are due to arrive at approximately 2pm and will be spending around an hour at Hurst Cross before they set off for Ashton Town Centre to complete their leg of the challenge.
Whilst at Hurst Cross, Joe and Simone will be conducting interviews and filming whilst completing laps of the pitch - which potentially could be used for the wider BBC Children in Need show on the following Friday night.
As always, we want to create a warm Ashton United welcome by filling the ground to support Joe and Simone in their challenge.
Our very own Rocky the Robin mascot in attendance to meet Pudsey Bear, and we would like to have as many people from the club and local community to come along and cheer them on their way.
The Crossbar will be open for refreshments for the afternoon so if you are available please get yourselves down to the ground.
Alternatively if you cannot make it you can support Children in Need by donating at Donate to Thousand Mile Challenge
