Match Preview: Wythenshawe Town (H) Frank Hannah Manchester Premier Cup 25/26

Callum Spiller12 Jan - 15:37

The Robins return to Manchester Premier Cup action tomorrow night as they host Wythenshawe Town in this year’s quarter finals.

Steve Cunningham’s side will be well refreshed heading into tomorrow night’s clash with Wythenshawe Town after having 12 days off since their 1-0 win over local rivals FC United on New Year’s Day.

A Word From The Gaffer

Speaking after New Year’s Day’s derby delight, Steve Cunningham said: “It's a tough place to come, but for me it's one that I seem to enjoy - that’s three or four wins on the spin here now.

“We are always good away from home, Stockton, FC (United), Gainsborough, the list goes on. We are a good side.

“Everyone is as good as each other on their day but we know we’ve got a good group and I'm delighted with that win for the boys.

“We looked organised, we looked solid, we looked a team today and that was obviously off the back of individual performances but as a collective I thought we were outstanding.”

Opposition Watch

The visitors have struggled to find form in the 25/26 campaign, currently sitting just inside the relegation places (19th) in the Northern Premier League - West Division.

Wythenshawe Town have won just six league fixtures this season, with three coming in their last six outings.

Last Time We Met

Both sides last met in the semi-final of this competition back in 2023, which saw Wythenshawe come out on top, winning 2-0 at Hurst Cross to reach the final, where they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Radcliffe at Broadhurst Park.

Matchday

Tickets for the game are available via cash and card turnstiles or online, priced at £10 for Adults, £5 for concessions (Over 65’s, 16-21+) and £2 for under-16s.
