The Robins are set to take on National League North outfit Scarborough Athletic in the second qualifying round of the competition on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.
Steve Cunningham’s side advanced to this stage of the competition following a first qualifying round replay victory over Hallam FC 10 days ago, while Scarborough enter the FA Cup at this round.
A Word From The Gaffer
Following a league 1-1 draw on Tuesday night at Hurst Cross against Bamber Bridge, Steve Cunningham previewed this weekend’s clash: “They’re a fantastic club all round and I’ve got a lot of respect for Jonathan Greening.
“This is a high calibre person, and team that we’re up against, the size of their football club is huge. But we won’t worry too much about Scarborough - all we’ve got to do is turn up and be us. If we do that, we will give them a bloody good game.”
Opposition Watch
Scarborough have made an immense start to the 2025/26 season, sitting third in the National League North, three points behind the early leaders South Shields.
Barring an opening day defeat to Kidderminster Harriers, the Seadogs are unbeaten in their last seven fixtures. Last time out, they drew 1-1 away to Chester.
In their last two FA Cup campaigns, Scarborough have made the first round proper. They fell to a narrow 1-0 loss away to EFL League One outfit Burton Albion in their most recent outing.
Last Time We Met
Both sides last faced off against each other in the 2021/22 Pitching In Northern Premier League campaign, the season in which the Seadogs gained promotion to the sixth tier via a play-off final victory over Warrington Town.
Both fixtures ended in a share of the spoils as a 1-1 draw was played out at the Flamingo Land Stadium, while a stalemate proceeded at Hurst Cross.
