Winless in their last two outings, The Robins will be determined to get back on track after losing out to Stockton and most recently sharing the spoils away at Morpeth last weekend.
Ashton had the lead in Northumberland via a Sean Newton penalty after half an hour, but they were quickly pegged back following a JJ Hooper finish as the game ended 1-1.
A Word From The Gaffer
Following last Saturday’s draw to Morpeth, Steve Cunningham said: “I’m not angry or frustrated with my players today, I normally am but there are so many more important things in life than football.
“We just want to send our best wishes and thoughts to James Hardy and the family, we will all be there to support him.
“Our problem is and it has been all season, we’ve just not been good enough in the final third, our quality at times and decision making has probably let us down from the results we maybe feel we deserve.”
Looking ahead to tomorrow's clash at home to Leek Town, the gaffer said: “Tuesday and Thursday we are going to hit 1000 footballs at the back of the net…We are trying to get a bit of confidence in the team from that side of the game.”
Opposition Watch
The Blues currently occupy 14th place, seven points above the relegation places and only three points behind The Robins, after playing two extra fixtures (32).
Leek find themselves struggling in the final third recently, scoring just one in their last four outings, which has led to two draws and two defeats.
Last Time We Met
Both sides last met back in November at Harrison Park, where Leek saw The Robins off following a 2-0 victory courtesy of goals from Louis Potts and Tunde Owolabi.
