The Robins ran riot last time out against Whitby, securing 5-2 FA Cup victory following a James Hardy-inspired second half performance, with the forward netting four goals accompanied by a fifth from Darius Osei to book our place in the next round of the competition.

12 days rest from NPL action may provide an opportunity to revitalise The Robins as they bid to bury the recent poor league form, having earned just two points from a possible twelve.

A Word From The Gaffer

Speaking after last Saturday’s FA Cup triumph away to Whitby, Steve Cunningham said: “We started off well with the ball, we were sloppy in the final third, the two goals we conceded were poor.

"Second half we were electric and I can't thank the lads enough for that response, because to finish 5-2 in any game is tough to do but to do it in the FA Cup when you are 2-0 down at half time.”

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s encounter with table toppers Cleethorpes, the gaffer said: “What an opposition they are. They’re at the top of the league by right, they’ve done really well.”

Opposition Watch

The Owls have started the 2026/27 campaign in fantastic fashion, sitting at the summit of the Northern Premier League after the opening eight fixtures, with six victories, one draw and suffering just the singular defeat.

The North East Lincolnshire-based outfit have been ruthless in attack and flawless in defence, notching up 23 goals in the opening eight league outings, meanwhile conceding just five in return.

Last Time We Met

Both sides last met in March, where The Robins first ever visit to the HPS Plant Hire Stadium ended with honours even following a dramatic 2-2 draw, courtesy of goals from James Hardy and Al Byrne.

Matchday

Tickets for the game are available via cash and card turnstiles or online, priced at £14 for Adults, £9 for concessions, £5 for 12-16-year-olds, and free for under 12's.

Please note, ID will need to be presented for any concessionary tickets if requested by a turnstile operator.

Turnstile 3 (on Surrey Street next to The Cross Bar) will be open from 12pm, for cash, card and pre-paid tickets.

The Cross Bar will be open from 12pm and access is from inside the ground only, there will be no access from the main entrance on Surrey Street.

We welcome both sets of fans into The Cross Bar for refreshments both prior to and after the match.

Alcohol not purchased from Ashton United is not permitted in the ground and stewards will be conducting bag searches on the turnstiles at their discretion.

At 2pm, the remaining turnstiles on Surrey Street and on Rowley Street will open as normal, as will the Robins Nest and the Robins Beer Hut inside Hurst Cross.

50/50 draw tickets will be on-sale both in The Cross Bar and on the ground, with match day programmes also available at the programme stand.

The AUFC Supporters club shop will open at 2:15pm, with memorabilia available to purchase from throughout the years.

Ashton United have launched an Ebay account where you can buy Robins merchandise, if you order at least five hours before kick off tomorrow and click and collect, you can pick up your items at the game!
