Ashton United enter the fixture off the back of a goalless encounter against Ilkeston Town on Saturday afternoon.
A Word From The Gaffer
Speaking after Saturday’s goalless draw, Steve Cunningham said: “Frustrating because I felt that the game was there for us to go and take the three points.
“One loss in five tells you we are a hard team to beat but we’re just lacking that bit of quality in the final third.
“We should be up there challenging higher than we are and it’s just one of them season’s at the minute where unfortunately that's not unfolded the way we wanted it to.”
Looking ahead to tomorrow evening's MPC semi-final tie, the gaffer said: “Going into Tuesday, if we perform like we did today in terms of the control of the game, the work rate, the effort, the professionalism, we’ve got a good chance of winning the game.”
Opposition Watch
Droylsden are the current league leaders in the North West Counties First Division North, sitting a point clear of Nelson after playing an extra match (28).
Tomorrow night’s visitors will arrive in high spirits, following five consecutive league victories in which they have scored 14 and conceded just three.
Last Time We Met
Both sides last faced off in October 2019 in the Manchester Premier Cup, where Droylsden ran out 1-0 winners, following a Simon Woodford own goal just after the hour mark.
