It’s back to league action for the Robins following on from their victory at the weekend against Scarborough Athletic putting them in the draw for the round.
Luca Navarro’s double off the bench gives the robins confidence going into Tuesday nights fixture as they look to return to winning ways in the NPL.
A Word From The Gaffer
Speaking after Saturdays FA Cup upset, “I think we’re going to rest everyone so we can try and win the FA Cup” Steve Cunningham jested.
“Big game, obviously Renno (Neil Reynolds) is doing a brilliant job over there and its my home town so I’m looking forward to seeing some great people”
“I’m not even thinking about Warrington Rylands at the minute, I mean no disrespect but I’m going to go drink lots and not think about it until tomorrow as I celebrate getting into the next round of the FA Cup!”
Quickly touching on Louis White coming off injured “we don’t know yet whether he’s snapped it (his hamstring) or just pulled it so we’ll assess it further”
Opposition Watch
Rylands sit in 7th place, two placed above but only a point ahead with an extra game played.
Having been knocked out of the FA Cup in the first qualifying round to fellow NPL side Guiseley 4-1 at home, Rylands haven’t played since last Tuesday, coming into Tuesday’s game with a weeks rest under their belts.
Their last game was a 2-0 loss away to Lancaster, their first loss of the season thanks to goals from Steven Yawson and Charlie Bailey leaving them without a win in their last five games in all competitions.
Last Time We Met
The two sides last faced off just before Christmas on the 21st of December at Hurst Cross where spoils were shared as the game finished 1-1 with first half strikes from Louis White and then just before the whistle Alex Kiwomya netted to make it 1-1.
However the last meeting at Dorsey Lane was a dramatic 4-3 Robins comeback win after going 3-0 down after half an hour with goals coming from, Ntumba Massanka, Jake Burton and Matty Regan but a Jason Gilchrist penalty in the 31st minute and some early substitutions in the first half by Steve Cunningham put the comeback into full swing.
Jason Gilchrist went on to net the remaining three in the 49th, 58th and finally the 66th to seal a famous Robins victory!
