Two first half goals were sufficient to give the visitors their third successive victory at Hurst Cross in a fixture brought forward to Friday evening.

Ashton handed Mikey O'Neill his first start of the season and were set to start with Darius Osei who, having been injured in the warm up was replaced by Kurt Willoughby.

Just 7 minutes were on the board as Jack Leckie's deep cross reached Trinity captain Lewis Butroid on the left wing and his controlled volley went underneath Taylor for the opener.

2 minutes later Willoughby hit a decent 35 yard free kick straight at David Robson and Dan Turner then guided a loose ball wide of the far post after Nathan Okome's return ball had forced Leckie to head away.

The dangerous Butroid then got the better of Spencer Knight before narrowly missing the far post but ten minutes before the interval he got his second from the spot after Harry Flowers had been penalised for a trip on Theo Williams.

Centre forward Williams was then just denied by Flowers picking up Offler's pass after the ball had been given away and a left wing move ended with James Hardy switching on to his right foot before clearing the crossbar comfortably.

On the stroke of half time Byrne's pass into the area saw Dan Turner's low effort turned away for a corner which Dylan Cogill headed past the far post.

Passing the hour mark a scramble in the area ended with O'Neill firing well over and Byrne's shot was deflected over off Jackson following build up between Justin Johnson & Hardy.

The Dolly Blues fired a couple of efforts over the top before Whitehouse picked up a booking against Hardy and both Doro and Okome were also cautioned in quick succession.

Entering added time the Robins found a lifeline as a left wing break from Mo Doro saw the ball laid off to 2nd half sub Johnson for a fine low finish and the closest the hosts came to an equaliser saw Willoughby hooking a loose ball wide after Flowers' header dropped to him.
